Booksy is the first booking system a salon, clinic or studio owner in Poland thinks of. It is also the first one many of them want to leave after a year - usually after a month in which commissions on new clients exceeded the subscription.
Most articles about Booksy alternatives are written by the makers of competing systems, so they always reach the same conclusion. We do not sell any of the tools described here. We build websites, sometimes with their own booking system, and in this article we also say plainly when that makes no sense. Prices were checked on official pricing pages on 11 October 2026 and apply to the Polish market; sources are at the end.
Short answer: if new clients really do come to you from Booksy's search, stay - you are paying for traffic you will not get elsewhere. If regulars and referrals fill your calendar, a cheaper subscription system does the same job for a fraction of the price. Your own booking system on your website only makes sense when you care about the brand and full control, not about saving money.
Kluczowe wnioski
- In Poland Booksy costs PLN 145 net a month for the first person and PLN 35 for each additional one. The real cost is the Boost commission: 45% of a new client's first visit, up to PLN 250 net.
- There is no commission when a client books through your own link, a QR code, or the button on Google and Instagram.
- Cheaper systems exist and cost from a few dozen zlotys a month, but they do not bring new clients. You pay less and look after traffic yourself.
- Your own booking system on your website is not cheaper than a subscription. It makes sense when you sell a brand, not a free slot.
What Booksy really costs
Booksy's pricing has two parts that are easy to confuse.
The subscription. PLN 145 net a month covers the first person in the calendar. Each additional one is PLN 35 net. A salon with three people pays PLN 215 net a month. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial. Automatic text reminders and 100 marketing texts a month are included; further ones cost PLN 0.10 net.
Boost. An optional service that promotes your profile in Booksy's search. There is no monthly fee; instead Booksy takes 45% net of the value of services at the first visit of every new client Boost brought, up to PLN 250 net. A lower rate is available as a special offer whose terms are set by the sales team.
What matters most is when there is no commission. According to the pricing page, Booksy does not charge it for bookings through your own profile link, a QR code, the buttons on Instagram, Facebook and Google, or for clients already in your base. You pay only for people who found you inside Booksy.
Payments come on top: 1.89% + PLN 0.49 gross per mobile transaction.
The yearly cost in four scenarios
Below are four variants. For Boost we assumed a new client's first visit costs PLN 150 on average, so the commission is PLN 67.50.
| Scenario | Subscription per year | Boost per year | Total net |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person, no Boost | PLN 1,740 | PLN 0 | PLN 1,740 |
| 3 people, no Boost | PLN 2,580 | PLN 0 | PLN 2,580 |
| 3 people, Boost, 5 new clients a month | PLN 2,580 | PLN 4,050 | PLN 6,630 |
| 3 people, Boost, 15 new clients a month | PLN 2,580 | PLN 12,150 | PLN 14,730 |
The conclusion is not that Boost is expensive. Fifteen new clients a month for PLN 12,150 a year is PLN 67.50 per client - a fair price if half of them come back. The problem starts when Boost charges for people who would have found you anyway. Before changing anything, check in the panel how many new clients actually came from Boost.
What you are really paying for
Booksy is not just a calendar. It is a directory where clients look for services - the company says almost 8 million clients use it in Poland. None of the cheaper systems below has that traffic. Booksy is also on Google's list of booking partners, so a booking button can appear directly in your Business Profile.
Leaving Booksy saves the subscription and the commission, but you lose a channel for winning new clients. If that channel works for you, it is the product and the calendar is the extra.
Stay with Booksy if
- most new clients really do come from Booksy's search
- you are still building a client base and need traffic from day one
- you want a booking button directly in your Google Business Profile
- Boost is switched off and you pay the subscription only
Consider a change if
- regulars and referrals fill the calendar, yet Boost still charges commissions
- you do not want to sit in a directory next to competitors compared on price
- you need booking shaped around your service, not around a hair salon
- you want the client base and the look of the booking flow to be entirely yours
Booksy alternatives compared
All the systems below are subscription-based and none charges a commission on new clients - except Fresha, which has its own directory. Prices are net.
| System | Free plan | Cheapest paid | How the price is set | Subscription for 3 people per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Booksy | no, 7-day trial | PLN 145 a month | per person | PLN 2,580 |
| Calendesk | no, 14-day trial | PLN 197 a month (PLN 157 billed yearly) | package up to 5 people | PLN 1,884-2,364 |
| Bookero | no, 14-day trial | PLN 19.90 a month | packages, up to 3 people for PLN 49.90 | approx. PLN 600 |
| Nakiedy | no, 14-day trial | PLN 31 a month | packages, 3-8 people for PLN 47 | PLN 564 |
| Zarezerwuj.pl | no, demo | PLN 290 a year | per calendar | PLN 680 |
| Fresha | no, 7-day trial | PLN 29 a month | PLN 19 per team member | PLN 684 |
| Reservio | yes, 40 bookings per 30 days | from approx. USD 9 a month | by booking volume | depends on volume |
| Reenio | yes, 50 bookings a month | from EUR 10.67 a month | by booking volume | depends on volume |
- Fresha has its own directory and charges a one-time fee for a new client from it. We did not find the rate for Poland on the Polish pricing page, so check it before signing up.
- Versum, often listed as an alternative, has not accepted new customers since 31 January 2022 and points visitors to Booksy.
- Text messages are priced differently everywhere: included with a limit (Nakiedy, Calendesk) or paid separately (Bookero, Reservio).
Free online booking systems: who they are enough for
- Reservio: 40 bookings per 30 days, up to 100 clients, no data export.
- Reenio: 50 bookings a month.
- Calendly: one event type and one calendar connection - a tool for scheduling calls, not for running a salon.
Forty bookings a month is two visits per working day. One person's full schedule passes that limit in the second week.
What the price list does not show
- Who owns the client base. Ask whether you can export clients with contacts and visit history, in what format and on which plan. For Booksy we found no clear official statement about export on leaving, so confirm it with them.
- What happens to reviews. Reviews collected in a directory belong to the profile in that directory. Collect reviews in your Google Business Profile as well - those stay with you.
- Text messages. "Reminders included" means something different in every system.
- Deposits and no-shows. If clients do not turn up, you need prepayment at booking. Check the gateway and its fee.
Booking straight from Google
A Google Business Profile can take bookings in two ways: through a supported provider, where the client books without leaving Google (of the systems here, Booksy and Fresha are on Google's partner list), or through your own booking link, which works with any system or your own website.
Your own booking system on your website
This is what we build, so we separate facts from advertising carefully.
What it costs with us. A website from PLN 5,000 net, the booking module PLN 1,500, care with hosting for a site with a database PLN 449 a month. Running costs - text messages and payment gateway fees - you pay directly to the providers. The first year is about PLN 11,900, each following year about PLN 5,400.
What it does not give you. It is not cheaper than a subscription, and it does not bring new clients the way Booksy's directory does.
What it gives you. Booking looks and works like your brand, not like a profile in someone else's app. The client does not see a cheaper competitor next to you. The form collects exactly what you need before the visit. The client base is yours and nobody changes your terms or commission rate.
It suits businesses that sell an experience: clinics, detailing studios and practices with a high visit value, where the client chooses a brand rather than the nearest free slot. If you need a new website anyway, the booking module is a small part of its cost. If you do not, a subscription is the sensible choice.
How to move without losing clients
Secure your client base
Before changing anything, save the client list with contacts and visit history. Check in the panel what export is available.
Run the new system in parallel
For a few weeks keep both calendars and block slots in both to avoid double bookings.
Swap the links
Google Business Profile, Instagram and Facebook profiles, your website, the signature in text messages. This is how regulars arrive.
Tell your regulars
A short message with the new link, sent to people who agreed to be contacted.
Close the old account last
Once new bookings have gone through the new channel for a few weeks and nothing is left in the old calendar.
FAQ
Is there a free alternative to Booksy?
Yes, with limits: Reservio allows 40 bookings per 30 days, Reenio 50 a month.
What is the cheapest Booksy alternative in Poland?
For one person, Bookero from PLN 19.90 net a month and Fresha at PLN 29. For a team of three, Nakiedy at PLN 47 a month.
Do I have to pay for Boost to use Booksy?
No. Boost is optional. Without it you pay the subscription only.
Will I lose clients if I leave Booksy?
Not regulars, if you swap the links and tell them. You lose the flow of new people from Booksy's search, so check first how many there really were.
Summary
The decision comes down to one question: where your new clients come from. If from Booksy, stay and make sure regulars book through your own link. If from elsewhere, a cheaper subscription system saves you from a few hundred to several thousand zlotys a year. If you are building a brand in which booking is part of the experience, consider your own system on your website.
